On the Beach and Welcoming Friends and Visitors since 2002.

We are lucky enough to be situated right on the beach, nothing between you and the Caribbean but seventeen meters of white sand. Located thirty minutes from Playa Del Carmen and twenty minutes from the Cancun airpot, Casa Kenwal is the perfect place for exploring the Mayan Riveria. We offer over 3000' square feet of living space right on the beach. In front of the Marine Sanctuary of Puerto Morelos. Casa Kenwal features an open floor plan with large windows facing our incredible white, sandy beach and turquoise, blue Caribbean Sea. The large kitchen is well equipped for all your cooking needs. This exclusive 5 bedroom, 7 bath villa features custom furniture made by a local family. All bedrooms offer luxurious amenities, featuring private bath, independent air conditioning, and quality bedding.

Casa Kenwal is located in the small village of Puerto Morelos. The village offers long stretches of white sandy beaches and a tranquil small town atmosphere. It is a wonderful place to come and relax, enjoy a sunrise on the beach, snorkel, dive and explore the many natural wonders of the Riviera Maya; such as the world's second longest protected coral reef, located just 500 meters from shore, jungle tours, and ruins or cenote tours. Although it is located just 30 minutes from Cancun and Playa del Carmen, Puerto Morelos has manages to maintain its peaceful atmosphere of a charming Mexican fishing village and protects its National Marine Park through the hard work of the community (a mix of locals and foreigners).

Read some of our reviews and decide for yourself. Casa Kenwal will make your dream vacation come true!

"Not enough superlatives!"

How do you say perfection? CASA KENWAL! There really are not enough superlatives to adequately describe the amazingly wonderful stay by the 6 of us, all adults, at Casa Kenwal. But I will try. The house and amenities are awesome: great kitchen, great dining and living rooms, great bedrooms, great bathrooms, great pool and patio, and plenty of space both in and out of the house for fun and relaxation. The location is ideal: right on the beautiful beach, east facing for spectacular sunrises with morning coffee on the patio, an easy 12 minute walk to the town square, close to 2 excellent beach bars and restaurants, but far enough away from the "action" to be quiet and relaxing. Puerto Morelos was also really nice: many excellent restaurants, the pier, the town square, the leaning light house, artisan shops, friendly people, easy local transportation with either taxis or the small buses, and most importantly, safe. We walked to the center of town and back every day, often several times, including as late as midnight. We never had a concern. The main street is very well lit and at all times there are people walking, mostly on the street because the sidewalks are often in poor condition or non-existent. And finally, the owners and staff are wonderful. Lily, the owner with Walter, lives on the property in a separate apartment and is warm, friendly, helpful, and delightful in every way. We did not meet Walter but I had several friendly and helpful calls and emails with him confirming details and asking questions. Maid service was provided every other day, and the pool and outside grounds were cleaned and serviced often. We absolutely loved it!

"Beautiful private home right on the beach!"

We stayed at this family friendly house over New Years holiday and it was amazing. This was our second time visiting and we look forward to coming back! The pictures are exactly what you get when you arrive. The bedrooms are large, beds comfortable and the house is beautifully maintained. We did some cooking in the wonderfully supplied kitchen, but restaurants are just a short walk as well. The beach is right outside your door and the pool is inviting as well. The owners are gracious and care about your stay. The staff helpful was helpful with an issue we had.

"Family Memories Made in Paradise "

We have stayed at Casa Kenwal for the past 6 years- creating great family memories that make us smile or laugh. This is a beautiful home, great location, great people, great amenities AND great staff to work with. This house fits our relaxed family lifestyle. An easy walk to the square or the fun restaurants located in PM. Lily and Walter do a fabulous job making sure you have everything you need- a huge part of why we have gone back year after year. And will continue to stay there. Our family feels safe and secure in the home. Our family enjoys having our own personal space in one of the many comfortable bedrooms or coming together in the common area for games and laughter. We have made so many wonderful memories that we cherish each year. Can't wait to create more memories in Casa Kenwal.

"Second time staying here!"

Like paradise! We are already booking for next year! The house is clean and well maintained. Great location near lots of restaurants, but not to close! About a 5 minute walk. I can't say enough great thing about this house! Walter and Lili are great to work with from start to finish! Lili was always available to help with anything we needed! We will recommend this house! Can wait to go back!

"Absolutely Amazing!!!"

Casa Kenwal is absolutely amazing. The house is beautiful inside and out. My family of 7 rented the house over Christmas. Love that all the bedrooms have their own bathrooms, was great that our family was all together but had our own space. Kids and I loved the pool and being right on the beach. My husband and I would sit out on the patio every morning and evening and watch the sun rise and enjoy the wonderful breeze off the ocean and sounds of birds and waves.
Martina (who we booked with) was very helpful and quick to answer any questions I had. Walter and Lilly were great hosts, anything we needed or questions we had they either answered or were on it right away.
We had bought some groceries so that we could make breakfast and some lunches at the house. Our first morning we got up we realized we had forgot to buy maple syrup for our pancakes. I called Lilly and asked where the nearest market was so that we could go get some. She said don't worry about it, and within 15 minutes she was handing us a bottle of maple syrup that she had gone and purchased for us. Walter and Lilly definitely make you feel comfortable and are great hosts.
Martina had a ride set up to pick us up from the airport and bring us back. Lilly recommended a van service to accommodate our family that picked us up and dropped us off right at the house. Everything about our Christmas in PM was wonderful!
Love the town and that it is only about a 5 minute walk from the house. I have adult children (20's) and felt completely safe with them coming and going anywhere in town day and evening. So many different restaurants, shops and activities to do so close to the house.
We definitely plan on going back in the future!!! Best experience I have had in all the rentals I have been to.

"Beautiful beach vacation home with a view of Paradise"

The house was perfect in everyway. I honestly hate to give it a 5 star as it deserves a 10 star. The house was clean and had everything anyone could have wanted. The view was beautiful. Have been to Puerto Morelos several times. We have tried different properties but this house is the best by far. We wont be looking for any other place to stay. Working with Walter and Lili was a pleasure. Very professional and extremely nice and helpful. Thank you Walter and Lili for letting us rent your beautiful house.

"Fabulous Casa Kenwal"

What more can I say, the villa was fabulous! I too awakened every morning to incredible sunrises and enjoyed the soft white beaches only steps away. Yes, there is some sea weed, but come on it's an ocean. And a healthy reef just yards away.
We had four couples sharing the unit and everyone loved the villa. The bedrooms were very roomy, beds were comfortable and the bathrooms had ever amenity you needed. The maid service was fantastic, and always made sure to replenish the bottle of waters in your bathroom. The kitchen was fully stocked, plenty of purified drinking water and purified ice for all those margarita lovers. The outdoor patio and pool area was lovely. Plenty lawn chairs and palm trees when you needed to escape the sun.
We too had Chef Juan and his wife prepare a wonderful authentic Mayan and Aztec meal. There was so much food we had leftovers to make another dinner the next day and fresh ceviche for days. And we didn't have to lift a finger. Well worth your money.
This was my first time to the quaint fishing village of Puerto Morelos. Would never go anywhere else again. Plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance, by beach or the sidewalks. And, you have to make sure to enjoy the town square at night.
And, the best part of the Casa Kenwal was the superb service from Lily and her staff. Highly recommended this location for friends and family.

"Nothing Short Of Amazing"

I reviewed this on Google after an extended stay last November for my wife's 40th b-day. I wanted to leave a review on Trip Advisor but didn't find it listed until now, so this is the review I left on Google along with a bunch of photos that I posted... See my review below, and so well deserved.
Wow! What a treat, I almost don't want to write this review so I can keep this place a secret. I woke up the first morning and walked out onto the patio to see an incredible picturesque sunrise with the view of the pool palm trees and the beautiful blue ocean literally a few yards in front of me. We were fortunate enough to have found Casa Kenwal through some friends who recommended it after having stayed there once before. It was so nice to go to the Riviera Maya and stay in a non-commercial area like Puerto Morelos, but in a luxury beachfront house like Casa Kenwal. The host knew our itinerary so they phoned us after our plane arrived on the way there to make sure we arrived safely, and provide us with additional directions to be sure that we could easily find the house (it wasn't yet on Google Maps). From the moment we arrived we were warmly greeted by the host. We were given a tour of the house. During which time they explained to us a little bit of history of the house, the town, the "do's and don'ts." We were happy to find that there was secure fast wireless internet, great Air conditioning in all the bedrooms, regular maid service (and even more happy that the maid was super friendly, considerate of our belongings and our schedule). We were told other options for hiring a chef for a special dinner one evening. Everything felt like a high end hotel (nice towels, toiletries, clean bottled water in every bathroom, ample supply of soft extra large beach towels etc. etc.) except with total privacy and no annoying drunk people stumbling down the hallway in the middle of the night. The kitchen was fully stocked with high end appliances all the plates, glasses, cutlery, utensils and pretty much anything you would need to cook anything you would at home. The icing on the cake was the meanest leanest Vitamix blender so we could make all the margaritas we could ever want! Oh, almost forgot the well maintained Weber that magically appeared on the back patio along with Kingsford briquettes the same evening I inquired about what we could use if we wanted to grill. They really put a lot of thought and care into making this one of the best vacation rentals that I have ever stayed in. I know it's a super lengthy review but I could go on and on about this place. The only downside is that we were only there for our vacation and had to return home. We will absolutely be back next year.

"Excellent vacation villa!"

We found a treasure in Casa Kenwal! A beautiful house, perfect location and all the amenities makes for a wonderful vacation. There was not one thing we could think of to make it any better – everyone had their own bathroom, there was unlimited bottles of water, beach towels, blow dryers, safes, fantastic view and walk to town – what more could you ask for? Maybe caretakers who were vigilant about checking with you to see if you needed anything else or giving advice on places to eat. Walter and Lily were so accommodating in that respect. All in all, a lovely place we are looking forward to going back to in Puerto Morelos.
We are new to having a chef come to the villa and prepare a meal. But after our first time, it has become an added feature on our vacation list. Chef Juan fills the bill perfectly! He came to the house to talk to us about the menu the day before he cooked and showed up the next day with all his supplies and his brother to help him fix the meal. It started with a delicious cerviche made from a fish his brother had caught that morning and proceeded with dish after dish of Mayan and Aztec foods each of which was better than the last! After we could eat no more, they cleaned up and left all the extra food which we had for lunches the next few days. A wonderful experience - we would highly recommend Chef Juan!
We would also highly recommend Martina's Oasis Spa coming to the villa. Our daughter-in-law had arranged for her to come and it turned out almost every single one of us had some procedure done before she left. We had massages, facials, pedicures and manicures and it was a great experience! Martina has been doing this for years and is very good at what she does. What a fun vacation activity to have her come to the house to make everyone feel better in one way or another! Martina is also the property manager for Casa Kenwal and she is superb at that as well. She replied promptly to every question I had and arranged the shuttle service for us to and from the airport without a hitch.
A big thumbs-up for Casa Kenwal!

"Spectacular Vacation"

The house was wonderful with all the services we needed. Lilli and Walter were helpful without being intrusive. Martina, the rental agent, helped us with our transportation needs. Casa Kenwal is roomy and beautiful, with many amenities. The patios are lovely, the pool was perfect for the grandkids, the beach was lovely, snorkeling right out from the house was so nice--we saw pretty fish.
The town was not over-run with tourists, but felt like an authentic Mexican fishing village complete with family-owned restaurants, a small grocery store, nice people, a town square -- and all of this a nice walk down the beach or sidewalk from Casa Kenwal.
While we were on the beach, people came by to sell fresh peeled and sliced fruit and vegetables. This was so delicious and refreshing. There were other vendors too, and they were all pleasant and nice and respectful.
We loved being away from high end stores and chain stores, and being transported back to an authentic village. It was lovely.
This was a spectacular house and village and we have already recommended it to friends and family.

"Wonderfull"

The house is perfect and more then we expected, and the people that take care of the house are fantastic. Thanks Lili and Walter!! My family loved our stay

"Well kept and well located villa"

The villa was better in reality than pictured. Bedrooms are spacious, bathrooms modern and the grounds are well kept. The beach in front of the villa is not too crowded and we appreciated that it was within a short walking distance from restaurants and other services. The owners live on the top floor and are always available for help.

"Great Place within walking distance of town"

Ricardo and his wife were very friendly and did all we wanted to make our stay a great experience. Very easy to understand Ricardo-speaks English well! Bedrooms were big and had nice bathrooms, except the downstairs bedroom was small with a small bathroom. Nice pool!
Only downside was our ride from the airport did not show up, fortunately I was familiar with the area. Also not crazy about not being able to flush toilet paper.
The pluses far out weigh the negatives. Would stay there again!

"A great vacation!!"

Our second stay at Casa Kenwal and we had a nice relaxing visit. We really like PM and staying at a place in walking distance is important to us. House has everything you need, great location and gorgeous beach views. Highly recommend you stay here. Martina is nice to work with and Ricardo and ava will take good care of you while there.

"Fantastic Trip!"

Last year we rented a house in Playacar, the year before in Isla Mejures, and we have been to many aI`s in the area. This home is directly on the beach, you have a nice pool, a little fenced in beach, then the public beach, then the water. The water was amazing, beautiful sandy entry, no need for water shoes. We snorkeled every day from shore and two days we went to the pier and went out with a guide to the reef. Reef tours were around 300 pesos per person ask for the guide "Crispy Bacon", he was great. We did venture into Playa one day. We took the collective from Pto. Morelos town to the ado bus stop at the highway, then on to Playa. One day we also took the colectivo (5 pesos) across the highway to the colonial to stock up on more fresh fruit and vegs. Two evenings we hired someone to come to the house to cook for us. You can arrange this when you make your reservation. The first night he did all the cooking, the second night we asked him to teach us how to cook some traditional Mexican food. All other nights we walked into town and just picked a restaurant to go to. Many of the restaurants are small, but we never made reservations and always found somewhere willing to take us! One of the great additions to this Casa is having Ricardo and Eva as part of the rental. Eva comes in every day to clean. Ricardo was always available to answer any questions about the area or the house. Another bonus was having free calls to the us or Canada. This is the first time I can say I really want to go back to Pto. Morelos, especially to this Casa. The area is getting ready for expansion though, new sewer system in the works, and lots of work being done on the road into town from the highway. If you are looking for something much more laid back holiday I recommend you have a look at Pto. Morelos, but I would do it sooner than later. Oh, less than .5 hour from the airport is a bonus!

"Great family week in Casa Kenwal"

Rented Casa Kenwal to gather the family from Seattle, Brooklyn and Los angeles -- it was great having them all together. Casa Kenwal is fabulously decorated and very comfortable. All the beds were very comfortable -- equal or better to what we have at home -- slept very well. Bedrooms all have room aC units -- but we never used them -- ocean breezes and ceiling fans made for perfect comfort during our stay. Bathrooms were large and luxurious. Kitchen well appointed. We did a combination of eating at resturants in the town square and cooking meals ourselves. The caretakers live in a apartment attached to Casa Kenwal and were attentive, but not at all intrusive. For future trips, I would hire their cooking services -- it might have been less expensive than eating in town as much as we did. Walking to the town center is a 1/2 mile pleasant walk on the beach. Walking around town during the day and at night was pleasant and safe -- very nice little town -- big enough to have decent resturants and services, but not completely westernized like nearby Playa del Carmen .

"Amazing beach house, it was perfect!"

Martina was great at making sure our booking was taken care of. She is also an excellent in masseuse yeah!!! Walter, Ricardo and Eva were always friendly and helpful. Asking if we needed anything and if everything was ok each and every time we saw them. You just can't get better customer service at a villa! The villa is just as pictured on utube with the exception the roof toop terrace is no longer a roof top terrace. It has a 3rd floor the owners stay in. The owner was on site during our stay which I think had nothing to do with the excellent service. I think the staff is just wonderful.
The beach is very large along the coast line in front of the villa. There are plenty of beach and pool toys. There is a cooler on wheels for those days you do not want to run back and forth to the house from the beach. Also there are chairs and beach umbrella for your use. The rooms are large and the kitchen is well equiped.
We had a wonderful 5 days at this house. We've been to Puerto Morelos before and love the small town feel. This beach house was perfect. In total we had 6 people: 4 adults, (two married couples) and 2 kids, 6 months and 2 years. Martina did everything before hand to make sure we were all set up for the two little ones. It was a very family friendly house, there were even beach toys to play with! Everything you need for a great vacation is here, beach towels, toys, rooms with a/c, plenty of bathrooms, great kitchen for meals, pool, lounge chairs, umbrellas for the beach, they thought of everything. I will definitely be visiting again with my extended family!

Martina was great at making sure our booking was taken care of. She is also an excellent in masseuse yeah!!! Walter, Ricardo and Eva were always friendly and helpful. The staff is extremely honest. When checking out I left my purse on the kitchen table with all our money and passports. We were staying 2 weeks. One at the villa and the 2nd at a resort. Ricardo chased down our driver as we were getting on the highway flashing his lights. We pulled over and he run up with my purse. He asked me to check it to make sure every thing was there. But I knew I didn't need to and did not check the contents of my purse. When we checked in at the resort and put the passports and money in the safe it was very apparrent that nothing had been touched. We left our computers and Ipad out while we were there. It was just so nice to feel comfortable while we were there, like we were at home. We all felt so at ease and isn't that what vacations are all about. The Master Senor bedroom is on the street side and so is the one bedroom handicap room. Two bedrooms ocean front. Villa is 4 blocks from the town square. It is a hike for those over 50. We figured out the last day the Collectivo drops you 1/2 block from villa. Really no negatives!

"We are giving it a 11 out of 10"

Our family holiday was a close to perfect as it could possibly be. Casa Kenwal exceeded our expectations. It was an incredible fit for our family, allowing privacy when wanted and family interaction when appropriate. All rooms were clean, beautifully decorated and made us all feel very much at home. The pool and yard areas were ideal for young and old. The grandchildren played from morning til night and we could keep a good eye on them from the comfort of the shade areas. All would agree an ideal location as walking to town for groceries, ice cream or evening meals was a mere 3 blocks.
Richardo and Eva were lovely hosts. Most needs meet when requested.
Juan was an amazing chef, perfect gentleman and friend to the entire family. He added a touch of Mexico to our holiday that money could not buy. His meals were wonderful, stories amusing and English excellent. Juan was very patient with our Logan who immediately stood on a stool by his side and helped(?) Juan with each dinner. Highly recommend Juan for future guests.
Booking and management through Martina was easy, friendly and very professional. Our every email answered, helpful hints offered and all promises kept. Martina went above and beyond the duties of management and helped in areas of holiday ease and rescue. My hope is that one day we can repay her for the extra mile offered. Truly a pleasure having met this generous, efficient, lovely lady. Our only regret is that we did not book a massage ahead of our visit- ah, next time.
All in all we would rate our holiday with Casa Kenwal as an 11 out of 10.
